The season of fruits is coming closer and closer. It’s getting hard to resist not stepping inside the kitchen to prepare delicious and plentiful sauces, juices, and whatnot with the spring and summertime fruits! I love the idea of having a fruit-based menu on my table for a lot of reasons. Not only fruits are epically delicious, nutritious but they also make up for the perfect desserts and appetizers that even your dogs can eat. No kidding, summer fruits are flavorful and it does take many ingredients to play around within your kitchen.
Why the fruit appetizers?
Fruits are the perfect combination of sweet and savory. You do not need to add much to eat but the right ingredients if put together make up for the perfect treat.
A perfect choice for the party and gatherings!
The best thing about using fruits for appetizers is their simplicity. The recipe doesn’t need to be complicated at all. In fact, you do not need to be a cooking expert to prepare some amazing fruit appetizers served as desserts or simply just “appetizers”.

Then you can consider adding yogurt or cheese cream – the two most compatible ingredients. Just chop off your favorite fruits, arrange them in a cool way and let the guests enjoy the richness of the nourishments.

1. Favorite platter - fresh fruits
Orange, strawberries, pineapple daisies, and oh so much more can be included in this platter. The whiff of citric fruits is amazing when put together on a platter it will become the Amazon of fruit appetizer.
Not only citric acid fruits but you can also include strawberries and apples too. Imagine if you don’t want to starve your pet during the prep for the party, these are the fruits good for the dog too! So yeah you can give them something to enjoy too. Your guest and your loving pet both can enjoy the platter.
2. Sweet fruit platter
Cut that pineapple, strawberries, melon, kiwi, and much more. Everything sweet with a bit of sourness is always welcome on the table. Use skewer sticks to make this platter a bite-sized option, to begin with.
The fruit on skewer options brings the option of a dip too. So pairing the fruits with your next best favorite dip is a sweet treat you can surprise everyone with.
3. Creamy fruit dip
So want that dip now do you? Sadly you can’t give one to your dog so keep him away but your guests can enjoy the creamy dips as additional goodness that goes with almost every other fruit.
You can always use chocolate ganache for strawberry or even cream cheese dip. But you need to ensure the proper consistency to go with it. Also, accommodate the bite-sized fruits and some crackers with dip.
4. Fruit and cheese hors
It’s a perfect combo to try.
Simple cutting skills are only required with an aesthetic sense to plate it. It’s one of my favorite fruit appetizers that doesn’t take much time at all! All you need is a toothpick and some berries and bite-size fruits assembled with cheese pieces.
It’s a last-minute appetizer that will never fail you. Some of the best combos include;
- Blackberry and brie
- Apple with sharp cheddar
- Anjou pears with gouda
- Grapes with fontina
5. Fruit salsa and chips!
Never tried it before did you? If you come to my party, you certainly will get to enjoy the spring dessert or appetizer with chips.
Just dice up the fruits of your choice. You have the freedom to pick any. Use cinnamon-coated tortillas or unsalted nachos to compliment the fruit salsa.
Kiwi, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries (all kinds of berries) can work together to create a mouthful of juicy goodness. But remember to keep it at bay from your pet.
6. Traditional fruit salad
A fruit cocktail or a simple fruit salad speaks loud about SUMMERTIME!
